Varicella (chickenpox) vaccination program
This Program, which commenced on 1 November 2005, provides free varicella vaccine for all children at 18 months of age and for children aged 10-13 years who have not received varicella vaccine or who have not had the disease.
Varicella (chickenpox) is usually a mild disease that lasts a short time in healthy children. However, it can be severe in adults and may cause serious and even fatal complications in people of any age.
To take advantage of the Program, visit your local doctor or health care provider.
It is important to note the vaccine is provided at no cost, however, a consultation fee may be payable to local doctors.
