Given the rapid change in the immunisation area it is anticipated that the electronic version of the Handbook will be periodically updated to reflect new changes. Immunisation providers are encouraged to ensure that they are using the current recommendations as available on this website. Handbook updates will be listed on this page.

As a result of the inclusion of update Zoster vaccine there were a number of minor amendments to several other chapters in the Handbook (Chapters 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 2.3, 3.8, Appendex 3 and Appendix 5). These minor changes are highlighted within the PDF of the relevant chapters(s).Amended Chapter 3.26 Zoster - Updated April 2009
An amended version of Chapter 3.26 Zoster has now been made available on the Australian Immunisation Handbook, 9th Edition, website.As a result of the inclusion of updated Zoster vaccine there are a number of minor amendments to several other chapters in the Handbook. These minor changes will be highlighted within the relevant chapters, which will be placed on the website soon.
In addition, Appendix 2 of the Handbook, entitled Handbook Development has been amended to reflect the procedures undertaken during the changes to Chapter 3.26.
